Estonia’s experience in the area of electronic documents has been appreciated
On May 16-17 the Latvian School of Public Administration (LSPA) organized training on the electronic documents and their archiving for the employees of the National Archives of Latvia
The course was prepared and conducted by Kuldar Aas and Tarvo Kärberg. Both are highly qualified experts in document receiving, storage of documents and their preparation for archiving. Gatis Karlsons, who is a document management expert with considerable experience in training, assisted in all possible ways to help the audience to perceive the information more effectively.
The professional competences of all the trainers were positively evaluated by the course participants. Among the most successful and important outcomes of the course the participants mentioned – extended knowledge of storage of electronic documents, the possibility to compare their work with their colleagues work in Estonia, as well as new facts and awareness about the benefits of the digital archiving.
The electronic documents are used more and more in the public administration and business environment in the flow of information. The archiving of the electronic documents is a set of complicated procedures. The National Archives of Latvia receive many consultation enquiries about the document management and archiving, however, there are many gaps in the knowledge of the Latvian experts concerning the electronic document management, which is why there are going to be organized more training seminars on this topic.
We would like to emphasize that this course was organized in the LSPA in the frame of the ESF Project No 18.104.22.168/15/I/001 “Professional Development of Human Resources in Public Administration for Improving Regulations to Support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises”.
